Family Literacy Day: Munsch At Home Contest Closes November 25

There is only one week left to enter ABC Life Literacy‘s Munsch At Home Contest. Canadian families are invited to write an original 250-word story to win a visit from children’s author and Family Literacy Day Honourary Chair, Robert Munsch. The contest closes on November 25 at 5pm EST.

The purpose of the contest is to encourage families to engage in a literacy activity and spend some quality time together. It’s also a wonderful way to encourage adult literacy learners to share their new knowledge with their families.

The winning entry will receive:

  • A visit from Robert Munsch to a Family Literacy Day party for your friends and family in your home.
  • Plus, a reading of your winning short story by Robert Munsch himself.
  • And, a public story-telling event with Robert Munsch at a literacy organization, school or public library of your choice.

The story will also be published, along with a special illustration created by Michael Martchenko, illustrator of Robert Munsch books, in a newspaper or magazine, and on the ABC Life Literacy Canada website!

The most creative story will be selected as the winner by a special judging panel, including Robert Munsch himself! Check out the first-ever Munsch at Home Contest judging panel. The 10 runner-up stories will also receive a special Family Literacy Day prize pack, and their story will be published on the ABC Life Literacy Canada website.
