Thank You For Supporting the 2010 Quebec Peter Gzowski Invitational

The 10th annual Quebec Peter Gzowski Invitational Golf Tournament was a big success! On Thursday, September 23, 2010, business leaders, school board directors, celebrities, politicians and other influential people played golf at Le Diamant Golf Club in Mirabel, QC to raise awareness and much-needed funds for literacy initiatives throughout Quebec.

The Peter Gzowski Invitational (PGI), founded by the late Canadian broadcaster and journalist Peter Gzowski, is held annually in every province and territory.

Over the past 25 years, PGI has netted more than $10 million for literacy programs across the country.

“25 years is quite a run for any annual event. But the PGI Golf Tournaments for Literacy have hit that milestone – and still going strong! The success of the PGIs can be traced back to a number of factors – timing, Peter Gzowski, incredible volunteers, and a nation of readers who understand that literacy is the key that opens so many doors to success in life.”
Peter Mansbridge
CBC News Chief Correspondent, Anchor of The National, and National Spokesperson for the PGIs

“I think Peter Gzowski’s greatest and most lasting gift is connection. In everything he did, he brought people together. The connection to lifelong knowledge and learning through literacy is also his legacy. Thank you for keeping Peter’s dream alive.”
Shelagh Rogers
Host of CBCs The Next Chapter, and Honorary National Chair for the PGIs
